At the European Convention of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) in Malaga, Morocco was named ยซย Best African Golf Tourism Destination of the Yearย ยป. This was made possible by the joint efforts of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO).
The European Convention of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), currently held in Malaga, is truly the epicentre of world golf tourism.
Over the course of two days, more than 750 delegates and representatives from Europe and other destinations came together to build relationships between specialist golf tour operators and entrepreneurs in the sector, including golf courses, resorts and incoming agencies.
This event is a unique opportunity to strengthen ties and explore new opportunities in the golf industry.
This year, Morocco will be out in force, with a large number of private Moroccan operators in the golf, golf resorts and hotel sectors, representing the Kingdom’s various golf clusters.
As part of the 2024 event, Morocco was named ยซย Best African Golf Tourism Destination for the year 2024ย ยป.
660 golf tour operators consulted and studied the performances of the 1st quarter of 2024 and the degree of satisfaction of their customers for their vote.
This distinction rewards the efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Moroccan National Tourism Office to ensure the sustainability of golf courses, improve the travel experience and promote golf tourism.
For the Moroccan National Tourism Office, golf is considered as a high-potential vector for tourism development, with strong performances thanks to the country’s prestigious golf destinations and the international events organised there. The MNTO, in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, aims to make Morocco as a genuine golf tourism destination in its own right.
Last November, the Moroccan National Tourism Office teamed up with the giant Netflix to promote golf in Morocco, an unprecedented partnership aimed at establishing the ยซย Morocco- Kingdom of lightย ยป brand on an international scale in the golf segment, taking profit from the strike force of the world leader Netflix.
The Moroccan National Tourism Office is thus continuing the innovative deployment of its ยซย Light in Actionย ยป action plan, offering Morocco as a destination with exceptional opportunities to reach millions of people worldwide.
