Led by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO), Air Transat will inaugurate on June 12, 2026, the first direct flight between Montreal and Agadir. This new connection, operated once a week, marks a major milestone in Morocco’s strategy to diversify its markets and reduce the seasonality of its tourism offering.
The launch of the Montreal–Agadir route is part of the international expansion strategy led by the MNTO to strengthen Morocco’s presence in the North American market. The result of extensive prospecting and negotiations between the MNTO and the Canadian airline Air Transat, this new route represents a historic first: a direct connection linking North America to Southern Morocco, offering the Souss-Massa region unprecedented access to a high-potential outbound market.
This new service will operate every Friday starting June 12, 2026. It will support Agadir’s rise as a key gateway to Atlantic Morocco while contributing to the revitalization of its tourism ecosystem. The expected impact is multifaceted: stimulating hotel occupancy, developing local activities, creating jobs, and ensuring a more balanced distribution of tourist flows across the country.
Founded in Montreal 35 years ago, Air Transat, a subsidiary of the Transat A.T. Inc. group, is renowned for the quality of its service and its positioning in the leisure travel segment. Named “World’s Best Leisure Airline” by Skytrax for the third consecutive year, the company will operate this route with a next-generation Airbus A321LR, combining performance, comfort, and a reduced environmental footprint.
With more than 174,000 Canadian visitors recorded by the end of August 2025, representing a 29% increase compared to the previous year, Canada has become a priority market within MNTO’s international development strategy. Following the Montreal–Marrakech route launched in 2024, the new Montreal–Agadir connection further strengthens this positioning and demonstrates Morocco’s ability to attract new airline partners in high-value tourism segments.
This new route reflects the MNTO’s determination to continue implementing its international strategy by expanding the Kingdom’s air connectivity, diversifying its target markets, and promoting the richness and diversity of its destinations. Agadir is thus preparing to welcome its first-ever regular transatlantic flight.

بفضل جهود المكتب الوطني المغربي للسياحة، ستقوم شركة الطيران الكندية « إير ترانزات« بافتتاح أول خط جوي مباشر بين مونتريال وأكادير ابتداءً من 12 يونيو 2026. وتُعد هذه الوجهة الجديدة، التي سيتم تشغيلها مرة واحدة أسبوعياً، خطوة استراتيجية كبرى في مسار تنويع الأسواق وكسر موسمية الوجهة السياحية المغربية
يأتي افتتاح خط مونتريال – أكادير في إطار الدينامية التوسعية الدولية التي يقودها المكتب الوطني المغربي للسياحة، والرامية إلى تعزيز حضور المغرب في السوق الأمريكية الشمالية. ويُعد هذا الخط ثمرة عمل دؤوب من التحليل والتفاوض بين المكتب وشركة « إير ترانزات »، مما يجعله سابقة تاريخية كونه يربط لأول مرة أمريكا الشمالية بجنوب المملكة، ويوفر لجهة سوس-ماسة منفذاً استثنائياً نحو سوق سياحية واعدة ذات إمكانات كبيرة
وسيتم تشغيل هذا الخط كل يوم جمعة ابتداءً من 12 يونيو 2026، مما سيُعزز من مكانة أكادير كبوابة رئيسية للمغرب الأطلسي، ويساهم في إعادة تنشيط منظومتها السياحية. ومن المتوقع أن تكون لهذه الخطوة انعكاسات إيجابية متعددة تشمل: رفع معدلات الإشغال الفندقي، وتنمية الأنشطة المحلية، وخلق فرص الشغل، وتحقيق توزيع أفضل للتدفقات السياحية على مختلف جهات المملكة

وقد بلغ عدد السياح الكنديين الوافدين إلى المغرب أكثر من 174 ألف زائر حتى نهاية غشت 2025، بزيادة قدرها 29% مقارنة بالسنة السابقة، مما يجعل السوق الكندية أحد الأسواق ذات الأولوية في استراتيجية الانفتاح التي يعتمدها المكتب الوطني المغربي للسياحة. وبعد إطلاق خط مونتريال – مراكش سنة 2024، يأتي خط مونتريال – أكادير ليُعزز هذا التوجه ويُجسد قدرة المغرب على استقطاب شركاء جدد في قطاع النقل الجوي ضمن شرائح سياحية عالية القيمة
ويعكس هذا الخط الجديد حرص المكتب الوطني المغربي للسياحة على مواصلة تنفيذ استراتيجيته الدولية، من خلال توسيع الربط الجوي للمملكة، وتنويع أسواقها المستهدفة، وإبراز غنى وتنوع وجهاتها السياحية. وهكذا، تستعد مدينة أكادير لاستقبال أول رحلة عابرة للأطلس بصفة منتظمة في تاريخها

entre l’Amérique du Nord et le Sud marocain
Grâce à l’action de l’Office National Marocain du Tourisme, Air Transat inaugurera le 12 juin 2026 la première liaison directe entre Montréal et Agadir. Cette nouvelle connexion, opérée une fois par semaine, marque une étape majeure dans la stratégie de diversification des marchés et de désaisonnalisation de la destination Maroc.
L’ouverture de la ligne Montréal–Agadir s’inscrit dans la dynamique d’expansion internationale portée par l’ONMT pour renforcer la présence du Maroc sur le marché nord-américain. Fruit d’un travail de prospection et de négociation mené par l’Office avec la compagnie canadienne Air Transat, ce nouveau vol constitue une première historique : il relie directement l’Amérique du Nord au Sud marocain, offrant à la région du Souss-Massa un accès inédit à un bassin émetteur à fort potentiel.
Cette nouvelle desserte sera opérée chaque vendredi à partir du 12 juin 2026. Elle viendra appuyer la montée en puissance d’Agadir comme porte d’entrée du Maroc atlantique, tout en contribuant à la redynamisation de son écosystème touristique. L’impact attendu est multiple : stimulation de la fréquentation hôtelière, développement des activités locales, création d’emplois et meilleure répartition des flux touristiques sur le territoire.
